Meat probe faults: JennAir says to check the probe is seated in its receptacle and then reset power.
Model compatibility: JennAir reuses codes across series and model years, so 3D31, 3D32, 3D41 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
3D31, 3D32 and 3D41 are meat probe faults; JennAir says to verify the probe is fully seated, then reset power.
Among JennAir’s oven codes, 3D31, 3D32 and 3D41 ask the least of you. They relate to the meat probe, and the first thing JennAir suggests takes only a few seconds.
First, the receptacle
Verify that the meat probe is securely inserted in the meat probe receptacle; JennAir adds that the location may vary. That receptacle is the socket receiving the probe’s plug. Press the plug in firmly and make sure it is seated completely before concluding anything.
Second, a power reset
Turn the oven’s breaker off and keep it off for a minute.
Turn the breaker on.
Watch the oven for one minute and see whether the code has cleared.
Confirm the oven operates.
Differences between the codes
None is given. JennAir’s text for 3D31, 3D32 and 3D41 is the same: check the probe seating, then reset.
Code still showing
The page never claims the probe itself has failed and names no cause. A repeating code therefore belongs with service. When you call, be ready to say whether you were using the probe and whether it was plugged in as the code appeared.
Answers to two questions
Must the probe come out of the oven? JennAir asks only that you confirm it is seated. Removing or replacing it is not requested.
Is the reset still worthwhile if the probe was loose? The page lists it as its own step after the seating check, so follow both, in that order.
If the probe code survives reseating and the reset, call (310) 622-9465 in Los Angeles and say both were done. See wall oven repair for the service overview.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
