F1E4 names the microwave appliance manager, the microwave power relay and their wiring. A one-minute breaker reset is the owner step.
Model compatibility: JennAir reuses codes across series and model years, so F1E4 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
A possible problem with the Microwave Appliance Manager, the Microwave Power Relay, or the associated wiring.
Where F1E4 appears
Both JennAir’s wall oven page and its built-in microwave page list F1E4 with the same entry. The wording stays at “possible problem”, not a confirmed fault.
Two parts and their wiring
The Microwave Appliance Manager: generally, an electronic board that coordinates one section of an appliance.
The Microwave Power Relay: generally, an electrically operated switch that passes power on to a load.
The wiring that connects them.
JennAir does not rank the two parts by likelihood and gives no other causes.
What the owner can do
Turn off the breaker, or breakers, feeding the oven.
Keep the power off for one whole minute.
Turn the breaker on.
Spend a minute watching the display for F1E4.
Run the oven and see that it works.
When F1E4 comes straight back
JennAir has nothing beyond the reset, so a repeat after cycling the power is the point to arrange service. Removing an oven’s covers to get at electronics is not for owners.
Is the microwave broken?
Does F1E4 prove a failure? No. JennAir says “possible problem” and lists the manager, the relay and the wiring, without saying which is faulty or that anything has failed.
May I test the relay myself? The JennAir pages describe no owner test. Checking a relay means working on live electrical parts, and that is a technician’s job.
